ROCHESTER WEEKEND

On Friday 2nd December members of the choir and friends left Swansea for a visit to Rochester, to attend the Dickensian Christmas Market. The trip to the hotel was uneventful and relaxing but very entertaining, one of our party took the opportunity to sell Christmas Concert raffle tickets to the other travellers on the coach.

The coach arrived at the hotel, Western Manor in Gravesend, in time for a 'chill out' before dinner. After dinner some of the party adjourned to the local inn for a pint or two. Again the opporutity was taken to sell raffle tickets to the locals.

On Saturday, after a hearty breakfast, the party set off for Rochester where the day was spent wandering the streets and shops enjoying the atmosphere of the Dickens era, including mulled wine. A number of parades and activities took place throughout the day culminating in a candle light procession through the town to the square infront of the cathedral where carols were sung by the multitude gathered.

After which it was back to the hotel for a quick change and dinner.

On Sunday, again after breakfast the coach set off on the return journey to Swansea. On the way there was a chance of retail therapy at the Swindon McArthur Glen outlet shopping park.

It is safe to say that this was a superb trip that was definitely enjoyed by all who travelled.
